IMAGES OF NATURE

It is with mixed feelings that Riviera Camera Club (RCC) and Eagle Creek Park (ECP) have decided to end the Images of Nature Photography Exhibit and Competition (ION). For several decades, this cooperative event has presented the work of nature photography enthusiasts from the greater Indianapolis area by showcasing the diversity and artistry of nature’s grandeur in styles ranging from landscapes to macros and subjects from plants and animals to mountains and water features and everything in between.

There are many reasons for this decision, but one of the greatest challenges has been an overall steady decline in the number of entries resulting in the entry fee being insufficient to cover the costs of paying judges a fair fee for their services and the prize winners a reasonable amount.

We want to thank all of you for supporting this event in the past, especially those of you who often thought about it well in advance and took photographs with ION in mind as a place to showcase your fine work. Many of you entered photos again, and again, and again. It couldn’t have lasted for so long without such interest and commitment. Thank you! And despite this sad ending, please don’t let that stop you from continuing your interest in the wonderful world of nature photography.
