The 2021 Louisville Photo Biennial officially begins this week with exhibitions opening in Louisville and Southern Indiana.
On Thursday, the Louisville Free Public Library reflects on the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks with an exhibition of crowdsourced photos by the people of New York. The opening reception features a panel discussion moderated by former WHAS-TV anchor, Melissa Swan.
Also on Thursday, the Portland Museum hosts an opening reception for its exhibition of photographs by Jon Cherry, whose featured work documents the protests and community uprisings that took place in Louisville last year. Other receptions this weekend will open exhibitions at the Mary Anderson Center (Indiana), Asia Institute Crane House, and PART Studio.
